Announcement for Spider-Woman Spinoff Film

That's right, Sony has led on to be bringing a strong female superhero film to light.  Their female superior of choice is said to be, Spider-Woman.  Though there are some other that are said to be close runners in this race, such as  Silver Sable, Black Cat, Firestar, and Stunner for example. Many are confident that the only choice would be  Spider-Woman. Even though Marc Webb, director for The Amazing Spider-Man, stated to E! News:

This hasn't been on my mind, but it's an interesting idea.

 This decision is coming at a very crucial point in the Comic Cinematic Universe.  Sony announced at the San Diego Comic Con that we expect to see the next installment, Sinister Six, on November 11, 2016.  Then The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in 2018.  Also, very popular in the theaters right now are movies with strong female leads, such as Lucy, Salt, and even Wanted.  People are ready and wanting a female superhero film to be made. Picking a sweet spot for the release of Spider-Woman is important, so far it seems to be sometime in 2017.  Right smack dab in the middle of Sinister Six and The Amazing Spider-Man 3. All we can do is wait.
